I live in the Pacific Northwest with my wonderful
wife of over twenty years Shannon Sr.. I've been
blessed with three kids (Elizabeth, Rosey, and
Alex). We have an aging Golden Retriever
named Kayci. My eldest daughter is already in
college at Hawaii, and my next child is looking, while
my youngest is starting high school.
I received by bachelor's degree at UCSD, in John Muir
College. I got a minor in Literature Writing, a
major in Mathematics. By an extraordinary stroke
of luck, I met my wife on my first day of classes, a
Thursday. After we graduated, we moved to Ithaca
NY, where I completed my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at
Cornell University.
I started work at Intel Corp. in August 1993.
I'm now the software architect for the Intel(R)
Math Kernel Library. I sometimes write nonfiction
in the area of numerical linear algebra.
I like Taekwondo. I got my third degree black
belt in June 2006. My daughter Rosey got her
second degree black belt in 2004.
I'm a writer among many other things. I
attempted my first novel in the fifth grade.
However, that project didn't get past thirty thousand
words of which fifteen thousand of them must have been
adjectives (I had just discovered something called a
Thesaurus).
I completed my first novel around 1991. This
time, I kept my adjectives in check. I've now
completed nine novels. I'm a dedicated writer,
putting aside time to write every day. I've taken
some writing courses at the local community college to
enhance my skills. I've joined writing
groups. I'm a volunteer at the Willamette 2009
writer's conference.
